CMC Commissions CCR Cut-to-Weight System
Nov. 13, 2007 CMC recently commissioned a new billet weighing and cut-to-weight system on the four-strand continuous casting machine at its South Carolina facility.
Supplied and installed by CCR Technologies Inc., the new billet weighing system is designed to provide accurate billet weights within 1/10 of 1%.
According to CCR Technologies, initial results indicate that the system is working within design specifications. CCR anticipates that installation of the new billet weighing system will result in annual savings of approximately 1% for CMC South Carolina.
