Aug. 16, 2006 — Core Furnace Systems was recently contracted to engineer, supply and commission the major equipment for a new 160-ton twin tank vacuum degasser at Ipsco’s Montpelier, Iowa, facility.

Core’s scope of supply for the new vacuum degasser facility will include a steam generation plant, steam jet ejectors, vacuum tanks, advanced process control system and an inline filtration system.

The vacuum degasser will help Ipsco produce higher quality low-hydrogen steel for plate.

Start-up is expected in early 2007.

CORE is a leader in the North American market for vacuum degassing systems and meltshop equipment. CORE also designs and supplies new reheat, heat treating and carbon processing furnaces as well as process control and automation systems.
