CORE FURNACE SYSTEMS HEADLINES

Industry Suppliers / Core Furnace Systems Tenova Core to Upgrade Reheat-Furnace Combustion System at Siam Yamato

Mar. 18, 2010
Tenova Core has recently been contracted to revamp the combustion system of the existing walking beam reheating furnace at Siam Yamato Co. Ltd’s plant at Maptaphut Rayong, Thailand. This project aims to reduce the amount of NOx being emitted through the furnace stack.

The combustion system project will include the installation of new Tenova TSX Flexytech® low NOx burners in the soak and heat zones of the furnace. The new “flameless” burners along with other modifications to the combustion system will provide the necessary NOx reduction as specified by Siam Yamato.

Tenova Core will also modify the existing control and automation package to seamlessly accommodate the burner and combustion system changes.

The combustion system upgrade is scheduled to occur during a prescheduled maintenance outage in 2010.

Tenova Core is a leader for the design and supply of reheating, heat treating, specialty, and carbon processing furnaces as well as meltshop equipment, technical services, and automation systems. Tenova designs and supplies advanced technologies, products, and services for the metals and mining industries. It operates through a network of 33 companies based on five continents.
