April 2006 — Ferrosider recently completed the second phase of its rolling mill modernization in Brescia, Italy, with the startup of three new additional Danieli Morgårdshammar SHS Universal rolling stands.

All new stands are fitted with quick changing facilities. Danieli Automation supplied the electricals, controls and automation system for the new equipment.

Phase 1 of the plant upgrade, which comprised the addition of two pre-finishing / finishing SHS stands, was completed at the beginning of 2004. The plant upgrade has enabled the mill to expand its product range and to enhance product quality, plant efficiency and operation flexibility.
