Tianjin Tiangang Starts up Twin Danieli Bar Mills
Apr. 1, 2006 April 2006 — Danieli recently started up two new superflexible bar mills at Tianjin Tiangang Group Ltd., P.R. China. Together the two mills have an annual rated output capacity of 1.5 million tonnes.
The new twin plants will produce a product range of 12- to 60-mm diameter SBQ bars and rebars, in alloy and carbon steels at rates of up to 160 tonnes/hour for each mill. The 18-stand lines feature the latest available Danieli Morgårdshammar technology for long products mills, including Low Temperature Rolling (LTR) technology. Low temperature rolling will be utilized on the finishing mills when producing SBQ bars or when multi-strand slit rolling for smaller-size rebars.
Danieli Automation supplied two HiGauge® bar measuring units and an advanced automation system for LTR process control.
Later this year, a Danieli Spooler line will also be started up as completion for one of the two bar mills, enabling production of twist-free-wound bars in ultra-compact, high-weight coils. This will make Tianjin Tiangang the first facility in China to operate the Danieli Spooler process for bar-in-coil production.
