Valcovna Profilov AS, Kosice, Slovakia, signed a contract with Fata Hunter, Italy, for a 120 meter/minute double coating line.

The new 160,000 tonne/year coating line will operate in the existing steel service center. It will process galvanized and cold rolled steel strip ranging from 0.3 to 1.5 mm in gauge and from 600 mm to 1,500 mm in widths, supplying products to the building, appliance and automotive industries.

The new line will incorporate Fata Hunter's latest technological developments, including the patented single slide coating machines and a Clean Air^™ Finish Oven System. The line will also have a pre-cleaning section, the dry-in-place chemical coater and the ability to change colors on the fly and produce multi-colored strip in a one-step continuous process. There are provisions to add a hot laminator and a metal embosser in the future.

The line is scheduled to start-up in late 2005/early 2006.

Fata Hunter is a world leader in the single-source supply of metal processing lines, especially coil coating lines and turnkey plants for the steel and aluminum industries.
