Industry Suppliers / Harsco Harsco Reports Infrastructure Sector Support Projects

Mar. 30, 2009
Harsco Corp. has been awarded new international orders in The Netherlands and Chile totaling approximately $1 million, part of the company’s continued development of support for the active global infrastructure sector.

In Chile, Harsco's formwork will be used during the concrete construction of a new public hospital, one of several initiatives planned as part of the country's 2010 Bicentennial Master Plan.
Harsco's formwork support will begin this month and is expected to continue for almost a year. Harsco's operations have served the expanding Chilean market for more than a decade.

In The Netherlands, Harsco will supply rental scaffolding to the Dillenburgh neighborhood restoration project in The Hague, building on an existing customer relationship with Netherlands-based construction contractor Bokx Bouw. The 30-week, multi-building project includes construction of a new high-rise apartment building as well as multiple building renovations. The project is scheduled to begin in May.

The orders follow the company's announcement of similar orders within the past month totaling close to $5 million in Peru, France, Romania and the U.S. for equipment and services to the infrastructure sector. In this sector, Harsco is well positioned to support the economic stimulus packages announced this year by many of the G-20 countries with targeted investments in infrastructure projects.

Harsco Corp., one of the world's leading diversified industrial services companies, serves key industries that play a fundamental role in worldwide economic growth and recovery. The company employs approximately 20,000 people in 50 countries of operation and recorded 2008 sales of approximately $4 billion.
