IAS to Supply Level 1 System for Xin Jiang Joinworld Intermediate Mill
Nov. 19, 2007 Xin Jiang Joinworld Co., Ltd., Urumqui City, China, recently signed a contract with Industrial Automation Services (IAS), to design, supply, and commission a Level 1 Control System for their new intermediate aluminum foil mill.
The new Level 1 system will provide hydraulic gap control, automatic gauge control, roll eccentricity compensation, and shape control for the 1300-mm intermediate mill, which is being manufactured by Chinese mill builder CNPT. The system will be based on Industrial Automation’s achieva Mill Automation platform, an open architecture control system that features IAS’ easy-to-maintain, graphical programming interface.
The integrated solution from IAS incorporates equipment from Parkegate Engineering, United States Controls (USC) and ABB. Industrial Automation’s scope of supply also includes new high precision ABB solid style shape roll, new USC spray headers with hot edge sprays, and position transducers from Parkegate Engineering.
IAS will execute engineering design, project management, installation assistance, commissioning, and operator/maintenance training through its offices in Pittsburgh, Pa.
