Steel Warehouse Co., Inc. awarded Industrial Automation Services (IAS) an order to design, supply and commission a replacement hydraulic gap control and automatic gauge control system for the company’s single stand reversing mill.

The project includes adaptive feed forward and adaptive mass flow thickness control and roll eccentricity compensation, along with high-speed data logging. Engineering design, project management, installation assistance, commissioning, operator/maintenance training, and a twelve-month on-line maintenance contract will be executed from IAS's offices in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Situated in Newcastle, Australia, and Pittsburgh, USA, IAS manufactures and markets a range of automation and control products as well as process improvement consulting services to the flat metals industry. The company also runs IRTC, the International Rolling Technology Course twice annually and produces APT, the Advanced Personal Trainer computer based training course.
