Apr. 27, 2012 - PT Gunung has contracted SMS Siemag for the supply of an ARCCESS® electric arc furnace and ladle furnace for the new steelmaking plant complex in Bekasi, Indonesia. The furnaces are rated for an annual production of 1.2 million tonnes.

SMS Siemag to Supply Heavy Plate Stand for ThyssenKrupp VDM
Apr. 26, 2012 - ThyssenKrupp VDM GmbH has placed an order with SMS Siemag for the supply of a new 2.7-meter heavy plate stand for their Siegen location. The new unit will have a rolling force of 60 MN and be equipped with a hydraulic adjustment system and work roll bending.

Apr. 23, 2012 - SMS Concast AG has been awarded jointly with SMS Concast America Inc. of Pittsburgh, Pa., a major contract from The Timken Co. to supply a three(four)-strand UHQ vertical bloom casting facility for Timken’s Faircrest steel plant in Canton, Ohio.

Feb. 21, 2012 - Maanshan Iron & Steel (Group) Co., Ltd., in Maanshan, China, has successfully commissioned the new duplex RH plant delivered by SMS Mevac GmbH, Germany. The plant is designed to treat heats with a nominal weight of 120 tonnes and features two treatment positions.

SMS Elotherm and Tech Induction Form Partnership in U.S.
Feb. 15, 2012 - SMS Elotherm and Tech Induction Corp. have teamed up to improve the support of customers in North America, allowing the two partners to offer a wider range of products and services. Tech Induction will contribute to the joint business a 3500-square-meter production workshop in Detroit.
