MORE to Supply Auxiliary Equipment for 2nd EAF at Severstal Columbus
Feb. 18, 2009 Severstal Columbus (formerly known as SeverCorr) has awarded a contract to MORE srl (Gemona del Friuli-Italy) for the supply of auxiliary equipment for their second 150-ton DC EAF.
MORE will supply the carbon pneumatic transportation/injection system for the facility’s second Electric Arc Furnace. The supply includes four MOCA carbon dispensers to feed the injectors that will be installed on board of the EAF.
To improve operator safety and operational requirements for the EAF, MORE will also supply a MOTANK remote-controlled slag door ram. The MOTANK cart eliminates the need for a manned forklift unit at the furnace.
This newest installation will bring MORE’s scorecard to a total of 295 MOCA carbon dispensers and 15 MOTANK systems supplied or under manufacturing worldwide since 1999.
