Nucor Steel Utah recently awarded CCR Technologies Inc. of Stoney Creek, Canada, a contract to supply a new caster cooling bed system.

The new walking-type cooling bed is designed to process the total production of the existing 4-strand casting machine. A unique design was developed to have the walking bed raise the billets to an elevated discharge area with a single walking motion.

The new system is scheduled to be installed by the end of 2005.
