Industry Suppliers / Praxair AIST Announces 2005-2006 Officers

June 9, 2005 — The Association for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST) announced that Richard E. O’Hara, Director of Procurement and Logistics for Carpenter Specialty Alloys, Reading, Pa, has been elected as the association’s President for 2005-2006. He replaces outgoing President Thomas C. Graham Jr., Vice President, T.C. Graham & Associates, Mason, Ohio.

AIST announced its new executive officers and board of directors during the organization’s Annual Conference and Exposition, AISTech 2005, which was held May 9–12 in Charlotte. The other elected executive officers included First Vice President Richard P. Teets, Vice President and General Manager of Steel Dynamics, Inc.’s Structural Division in Columbia City, Ind., and Second Vice President Charles J. Messina, Vice President, Praxair Metals Technologies, Indianapolis, Ind. Past President Thomas C. Graham Jr. will continue to serve as an executive officer, in addition to Officers-at-Large Andrew S. Harshaw, Vice President of Manufacturing for Dofasco Inc., Hamilton, Ont., Canada; John J. Ferriola, Executive Vice President, Nucor Corp., Charlotte, N.C.; and John D. Lefler, Vice President of Operations and General Manager, Mittal Steel USA – Sparrows Point, Sparrows Point, Md. Treasurer Theodore F. Lyon, Managing Director for Hatch Associates Inc., Pittsburgh, Pa., and Secretary Ronald E. Ashburn, Executive Director of AIST, Warrendale, Pa., complete the executive committee.
