Izhora Pipe Mill Produces Record 500,000 Tonnes of LD Pipes Jan. 25, 2012 - OAO Severstal announced that its pipe production unit, the Izhora Pipe Mill, produced more than 500,000 tonnes of large-diameter (LD) pipes in 2011, representing a 10% increase on 2010 production levels, primarily for use in major oil and gas projects in Russia.

Outokumpu Signs Final Agreement with Tubinoxia on Tubular JV Sep. 26, 2011 - Outokumpu and Tubinoxia, an Italian company controlled by Andrea Gatti, have signed the agreement on the joint venture (JV) for Outokumpu's tubular unit (OSTP). VSB Produces First Steel Pipe from Steelworks in Brazil Dec. 20, 2010 - Vallourec & Sumitomo Tubos do Brasil Ltda (VSB) began a test operation at its integrated seamless pipe steelworks, successfully piercing its first billet recently. Following the completion of the rolling mill, upstream facilities including charcoal blast furnaces will begin operation in the second quarter of 2011.

Severstal TPZ Sheksna Commissions New Line from SMS Meer Sep. 13, 2010 - Severstal TPZ Sheksna successfully commissioned in June 2010 the RD-410 welded tube line supplied by SMS Meer. Commerce Finds Dumping of OCTG from China Apr. 14, 2010 - The U.S. Department of Commerce announced on April 9 its affirmative final determination in the antidumping duty investigation on imports of oil country tubular goods from P.R. China. Commerce determined that Chinese producers/exporters have sold OCTG in the United States at margins ranging from 29.94 to 99.14%.

Canadian Tribunal Delivers Mixed Findings on OCTG from China Mar. 24, 2010 - The Canadian International Trade Tribunal finds that dumped and subsidized coupling stock OCTG from China had not caused or threatened to the domestic industry, but that dumped and subsidized casing and tubing OCTG from China had.

Posteel Opens New Pipe Plant in Oman Mar. 19, 2010 - Posteel recently opened Gulf International Pipe Industry (GIPI), a new 250,000-tonne production facility specializing in API pipes based in Sohar, Oman. Posteel will supply 100,000 tonnes of hot-rolled coils annually to GIPI, which are needed to produce the pipes.

API Steel Pipe Factory Completed in Pittsburg Nov. 13, 2009 - Posco has completed construction of an annual 270,000-tonne scale API steel pipe factory in Pittsburg, Calif. United Spiral Pipe, established jointly with U.S. Steel and Seah Steel, will manufacture and sell API-certified steel pipes designed for energy transportation.

HFI Tube Welding Line in Operation at Thisvi Pipeworks Oct. 28, 2009 - In the Thisvi Pipeworks in Greece, Corinth Pipeworks has produced the world's first 26-inch longitudinally welded pipe by using the High Frequency Induction (HFI) process. During a three-week shutdown, the line was extended jointly by Corinth and SMS Meer to allow production of the pipes.
