Posco, KOCEMA to Cooperate on Steel Technologies
Feb. 22, 2010 Posco recently signed the “Technological Support and Steel Products Supply Agreement for Mutual Cooperation of Large, Mid, and Small Sized Companies” with KOCEMA (Korea Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association) in Seoul.
Executive Director Jun-shik Kim, KOCEMA Vice President Dong-won Choi, and other Ministry of Knowledge Economy officials attended the signing ceremony.
Posco and KOCEMA have agreed to establish and jointly carry out cooperation plans regarding technology for steel products such as weight-reduction technology and welding and processing technology of high-profile steel products, as well as localizing core parts materials in the construction equipment sector.
Posco has decided to support and cooperate in the steel plate cutting plan design and cutting process through Posco family companies including Pohang SFC. Posco also will provide products within the contracted date when mid- and small-sized company members of KOCEMA submit collective orders of steel.
