Posco’s Black Plate Supply to Tinplate Maker Surpasses Milestone
Feb. 3, 2010 Posco’s accumulated sales to Zhongshan Zhongyue Tinplate Industrial Co. recently reached the 1 million-tonne mark.
Posco Senior Executive Vice President Oh Chang-kwan recently visited Zhongyue to present an appreciation plaque to Zhongshan Zhongyue Chairman Liang Jiang at a celebration ceremony.
Posco has been supplying black plates to the Chinese company since 1992, and the overall amount reached 500,000 tonnes in May 2006. It also established the Zhongyue Posco Tinplate Industrial Co., a joint venture with Zhongsan Zhongyue, in Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province, in 2007.
Zhongyue Posco currently operates an electrolytic tinning line plant with an annual capacity of 250,000 tonnes, which was completed in February 2008.
